Founded in Hull in 2005 by Mark Harraway, Shutters4 Ltd has spent two decades doing one thing properly — designing, supplying and installing plantation shutters with the care a bespoke product deserves. Today we serve Newcastle and the North East from our team here in the city.

Chapter one
A customer asked a question. A career began.
In 2005, our founder Mark Harraway was a trainee scuba diving instructor — one course away from qualifying — and helping his mum on the side. A customer walked in and asked, quite simply, whether anyone in the area fitted plantation shutters. No one did.
Mark searched high and low, eventually tracking down Woodfold in Oregon, USA. Six months of transatlantic conversations later, the first set of shutters was imported, designed and installed in Jackie Swinburn's living room.

We hire experienced fitters, pay them well and follow up every install with a courtesy call. Every customer receives a satisfaction form — and we read every word.

Every shutter and blind we install is covered by a generous warranty. And if a customer's product is out of warranty, we still take pride in finding them a solution.

Every enquiry is handled by experienced staff — never a call centre. We book your survey, send a senior specialist to advise and quote, place your order, share tracking, fit your shutters, and follow up with a courtesy call to be sure you're delighted.
It's a slower, more considered way of working — and it's the reason customers come back to us years later, for the next room, the next home, or the recommendation to a neighbour.
