From Heaton terraces to Jesmond semis, bays define the character of Newcastle's housing stock. Shutters dress them properly — but the configuration matters.
Three ways to bay
One: full-height panels in each section, hinged independently. Most flexible, most popular. Two: tier-on-tier — top and bottom open separately. Best for street-facing bays where privacy matters. Three: café-style — bottom half only, top half open.
What drives the cost
Bay shutter pricing depends on width, height, number of sections, material (hardwood or faux wood), louvre size and finish. A typical three-section Newcastle bay in hardwood usually lands between £1,400 and £2,400.
The survey is critical
Bays are rarely square. Angles vary, mullions are uneven, sills aren't always level. We measure to the millimetre and build to your bay specifically — never off a generic template.
