Shutters are designed to look effortless — and that includes how you clean them. The good news: it takes about three minutes per window, every couple of weeks.
The fortnightly routine
Close the louvres so they sit flat. Run a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a long-handled duster across them, top to bottom. Tilt the louvres the other way and repeat. That's it.
Monthly: a damp wipe
Once a month, do the same with a very lightly damp cloth — water only. Avoid sprays, polishes and anything labelled 'multi-surface'. They leave residue that attracts more dust.
What not to do
No furniture wax. No glass cleaner. No abrasive sponges. The factory finish is engineered to outlast all of them — additional products only get in the way.
