Country homes, sensitively done
Wolds farmhouses, listed cottages in villages like South Dalton or Burton Agnes — we work with the architecture, not against it. Slim frames, traditional louvre sizes, hand-finished paint.
The Yorkshire Wolds villages — Driffield, Pocklington, Market Weighton and the smaller settlements between — tend to have older property: stone cottages, ex-farmhouses, Victorian rectories. These usually suit traditional full-height shutters in slim hardwood frames with smaller louvres (47mm or 63mm) to keep the proportions right.
The coast — Bridlington, Hornsea, Withernsea and out to the villages on Spurn — has its own considerations. Big sea views deserve unobstructed glass when the louvres are tilted open, and the salt air needs hardwood and finishes that can take it. We'll talk you through the right combination at survey.
