Shutters in Hessle
Bespoke plantation shutters for Hessle homes — bay-fronted Victorians, Foreshore views and Swanland estates. From £320 per m² fitted.
Hessle · Made to measure
Hessle sits in a sweet spot for shutters — a mix of bay-fronted Victorian terraces around the Square, larger Edwardian and 1930s family homes up Tranby Lane, and modern executive houses around Swanland and Kirk Ella.
Add the Foreshore: a stretch of homes facing directly south across the Humber, where the light is glorious in winter and brutal in summer. Plantation shutters handle both — tilt the louvres up to scatter glare in July, close them flat to keep heat in come December.
We fit shutters in Hessle most weeks. A 10-minute drive from our Newcastle workshop, same team end to end, same fixed pricing.

Why locals choose us
Built for Hessle homes.

Built for Hessle's light
South-facing Foreshore windows need shutters that diffuse glare without blacking out the room. We'll recommend louvre size and tilt direction specifically for your aspect.

Bay-fronted specialists
Most Hessle Victorian terraces have three-facet bays. We make each panel to the exact angle, so the louvres line up cleanly across all three facets — something curtains and blinds simply cannot do.

Same team, start to finish
Surveyed, manufactured and fitted by Shutters 4 Newcastle. No subcontracted strangers, no handing-off. The person who measures usually fits.
Down by the Hessle Foreshore the views run all the way to the Humber Bridge — and the windows tend to be wide, modern UPVC casements that need handle clearance built into the frame. We usually fit full-height shutters with mid-rails here, so the upper louvres can stay open for the view while the lower louvres give privacy from the path.
Older Hessle Square cottages and the streets just off it (Northgate, Eastgate, Heads Lane) are typically Victorian or Edwardian bay-fronted. Tier-on-tier or full-height-with-mid-rail is usually the right answer — same logic as any street-facing Newcastle bay.
Out towards Swanland, Kirk Ella and Anlaby Park the housing is larger and more recent. Tall, narrow casements; conservatory walls of glass; the occasional special-shaped gable above a staircase. All standard work for us.
